PRESSPASSL A
This boutique firm is unique in the sense that itβs a full-service public relations agency and an entertainment news outlet β allowing me to experience 360 degrees of the public relations and media landscape.
Represented clients in the tech, health & fitness, entertainment, and consumer spaces by staffing interviews, slating red carpet appearances, launching and managing social media accounts, and strategically managing their public images.
Secured press hits, with an emphasis on tier 1 outlets, by writing thoughtful pitches personally tailored to individual reporters, crafting the story for the outlet, and employing other strategic tactics to elicit responses and coverage.
Correspondent for red carpet events including the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Barry premiere, and more. This
Red carpet management for client or brand-owned events including guest list management, press attendees and red carpet placement, talent arrivals, step-and-repeat creations, media relations and time management.
Red carpet talent management including slating, staffing carpet interviews, and moving clients along the carpet to ensure the best photo opportunities, interview opportunities, and in-the-moment strategies to maximize client exposure with the proper outlets.
(I gotta say, playing both sides of the carpet was great in that I experienced first-hand what the other side was feeling, but I also had to be strategic in who got placed where and the talent I'd send their way. After all, I'd be right next to these folks at the next event, and red carpet reporters can be petty!)
Served as the AOR and Producer for the LA Times Food Bowl, where I interviewed local restaurateurs (e.g., Winsome, Love & Salt) and staffed Editorsβ media opportunities, and for the annual S.H.A.R.E. Gala (the oldest charity in Beverly Hills founded by the Rat Packβs wives).
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
[Personal accomplishment] Met my idols: Paris and Nicholai Olivia Hilton. Bonus: They were with Paris Jackson (who, for some reason, I still imagined being a small child - because celebrities (esp. celeb kids) age in increments of public appearances).
Successfully managed the press opportunities for my first global tour (the US leg of it, at least), for Trevor Hall's The Fruitful Darkness album tour.
Helped facilitate the partnership between celebrity restaurateur and LA native, Jeremy Fall, and RocNation. Fall was the first chef to be signed to Jay-Z's company, and as fate would have it, only a year later I'd be working directly with one of their biggest artists, Lil' Pookie (kidding - it was Rihanna).
Ghost-wrote contributed articles and thought-leadership pieces that are published in Forbes and other Tier 1 outlets. These were written on behalf of CEO clients in industries I knew absolutely nothing about before that! More on this in the "Blog" section.
Executed various events for clients in order to build awareness, drive sales for a particular product, control the narrative with press, and to accomplish other goals relevant to the client. Examples include, but aren't limited to:
Book signings and panel discussions for Jennifer Cohen (Badass Body Goals) and Jordan Taylor Wright (Forever in the Infinite Now).
Jeremy Fall's restaurant opening in the Beverly Center (Easy's).
New product launch events, including DY Nutrition for Dorian Yates and Nickelodeon x Love Tribe Apparel.
The annual Boomtown Gala, presented by SHARE, Inc. - the oldest charity in Beverly Hills.
The annual City Summit and City Gala - taking place on Oscars weekend.

FOOD
BOWL
Interview with Rebecca Merhej (Love & Salt) & Joe Perez (Winsome) at the Hollywood Roosevelt's iconic Spare Room Lounge.
Two (2) of LA's hottest new chefs, Rebecca Merhej and Joe Perez, met The Los Angeles Times and I at the iconic Spare Room Lounge at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel to "dish" about their new hot-spots, Love & Salt and Winsome, the LA food scene, what dishes they had planned for their Los Angeles Times Food Bowl debuts, and more.
HBO's BARRY (Season 1) premiere in Hollywood.
Definitely one of the best times I had working the other side of the carpet. The entire cast was so chill, no screaming publicists or photographers, and I learned we need to protect Henry Winkler at all costs.
Humblebrag: The head publicist stopped me on my way out to tell me the cast enjoyed talking to me and that I made them feel comfortable. Oh yea, there's a lot of "banter" (if you will) that didn't make it in the final cut.
When the Beverly Center underwent a half-billion dollar renovation, they allocated space for only one (1) restaurant inside the mall and already had the restaurateur in mind - Jeremy Fall.
Fall was the first chef signed to RocNation, owner of a few trendy LA eateries, and my client at the time!
This shot was taken the morning of the grand opening event.
I look crazy in this photo...
Jess Phoenix is the world's leading volcanologist. No, that's not an obsessed Star Trek fan, it's someone who studies volcanoes, their activities, eruptions, formations and more. You can catch her on Discovery, NatGeo, Animal Planet, CNN and more, providing commentary on a variety of shows.
However, back in 2018 she made a run Congress - looking to grab CA's 25th District seat.
This was technically my third (3rd) political campaign - the others being my own and Obama's - but it was like nothing I've ever experienced. She was up against the machine-backed Party-favorite, Katie Hill...and we all know how that ended.
Two totally different moods...
We had a promotional photo shoot with the LA Times photographers to get assets for the upcoming Food Bowl. The top pic is me, reading my fancy book in Grand Central Market.
The bottom photo is LA Times Food Editor, Amy Scattergood.
The 6x Mr. Olympia legend himself, Dorian Yates.
He was a client and looking to expand his supplements brand , so we hosted an event at 'The Mecca.'
That's where I saw first-hand how loved / idolized / legendary Dorian was. Pretty cool.
Ashton Kutcher was the keynote at the annual City Gala & City Summit, which brings investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders together during Oscars weekend.
We served as the AOR for the events.
Myself, my friend Dechon, and friend/influencer, Bianca Bee, at the Our/Los Angeles Vodka (former client) espresso martini tasting event.
